Goseokjeong Flower Garden: Autumn Season

If you are planning an autumn trip to Cheorwon, the Goseokjeong Flower Garden deserves a spot. This is not a small park with a few beds of flowers: a former military training ground has been turned into a vast flower field, with a tin-can train, photo zones, craft booths and food stalls that make it great for families.
- Season: August 28 – October 31, 2026
- Hours: 09:00–19:00 (tickets until 18:00), closed Tuesdays
- Address: 1769 Taebong-ro, Dongsong-eup, Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon
Closing dates and hours may shift with the flowers and sunset, so check Cheorwon County notices for late-October visits.
Tickets are 10,000 won for adults and 4,000 won for youth (ages 7–18), but adults get 5,000 won and youth 2,000 won back as Cheorwon local gift vouchers, which you can spend at food and farm-produce booths inside.
Why It’s Worth the Drive

The garden is not a single-flower festival. This autumn’s planting includes plume celosia, gaura, globe amaranth, verbena, zinnia, cosmos, kochia, pink muhly, silver grass and angelonia, plus a pumpkin tunnel. The joy is in the long sweeps of color against Cheorwon’s wide plains and mountain ridges, which feels very different from small festivals near Seoul. The garden has welcomed more than three million visitors.
With Kids, Ride the Tin-Can Train

With kids, the tin-can train is a must. It leaves from the lawn plaza and loops about 1.2 km, which saves little legs in such a big garden. Check fares and operation on the day. There are also photo zones, local produce, crafts and hands-on booths, though programs vary by date. For elementary kids, pick a few flowers to find, such as celosia, globe amaranth and kochia, and turn it into a nature hunt.
Spots Not to Miss at Goseokjeong Flower Garden

- Plume celosia: bold reds and yellows, the garden’s signature look
- Pink muhly and gaura: soft colors for family photos
- Kochia: it changes color as autumn deepens, perfect for October
- A high viewpoint: see the whole field once to appreciate its scale
Cheorwon County suggests about two hours; with the train and booths, plan for around two hours.
Parking
Families driving will use parking around the Goseokjeong tourist area, mainly the Goseokjeong National Tourist Site lot. Traffic concentrates during the season, so check county notices before leaving.
More to See in Cheorwon

Goseokjeong itself is the natural next stop, with the Hantangang River gorge and Goseok Rock, a completely different landscape from the flowers. Flowers plus Goseokjeong make an easy half day.
The Hantangang Jusangjeolli Cliff Trail (Sundam ticket office) runs about 3.6 km along canyon walls. It is open 09:00–16:00 from March to November, 10,000 won for adults and 4,000 won for children with partial voucher refunds, closed Tuesdays. It suits families who enjoy walking.
For history, Cheorwon History and Culture Park recreates the 1930s town for free (09:00–18:00, March–November), and the Soisan monorail leaves from there (adults 7,000 won, youth and children 4,000 won), weather permitting.
Our Family Plan

Goseokjeong Flower Garden is more than a photo stop: you can walk, ride the tin-can train and link it to wider Cheorwon sightseeing. Our easiest route: two hours in the garden → Goseokjeong → Cheorwon History and Culture Park. Older kids who love walking can swap the park for the cliff trail. The autumn season ends October 31, but check official notices for late-October visits.
