Cheonan Children’s Kkumnuriteo: An Indoor Play and Learning Center for Kids

Cheonan Children's Kkumnuriteo

This post introduces Cheonan Children’s Kkumnuriteo, an indoor attraction perfect for spending a day with kids in Cheonan.

It’s a place where kids can play freely even on rainy or cold days, combining education, play and culture.

Why Is Cheonan Children’s Kkumnuriteo So Popular?

Building exterior

It isn’t just a kids’ cafe but a cultural space that sparks children’s imagination and creativity.

It was built to guarantee children’s right to play and leisure under Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child,

and on weekends it draws families not only from Cheonan but also from nearby Sejong and Asan.

As an indoor facility unaffected by fine dust or weather, it’s open year-round,

with activities well organized by stage from toddlers to early elementary school.

It’s a place where kids learn and have fun at the same time.

Location and Hours

Entrance

Cheonan Children’s Kkumnuriteo is at 39 Yetsicheong-gil, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, near the Dongnam-gu Office.

With two floors above ground and one below, it covers about 6,900 square meters.

Lobby

It’s open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.,

with short breaks at lunch (12–1 p.m.) and in the afternoon (3–3:30 p.m.).

It’s closed on Mondays and during the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays, so check before you go.

Admission is 4,000 won per person, and Cheonan residents get 50% off at 2,000 won.

National merit holders, people with disabilities and basic livelihood recipients get the same discount with proof.

Session schedule

Main play areas like the Heung Playground run in sessions:

10 a.m.–12 p.m., 1–3 p.m. and 3:30–5:30 p.m.

Each session lasts two hours, and weekends often fill up early, so book ahead.

Play Spaces Floor by Floor

Basement 1: Heung Playground

This is the most popular space with kids.

True to its name, it’s packed with hands-on content that stimulates all five senses.

Toddler zone

Omiljomil Village is for children under 36 months, with slides and a mini camping zone for safe play.

The Pongdang water play zone lets kids

In the drone zone, kids fly drones and learn how flight works,

and in the kids’ driving license zone, they get a real-looking

In the blacklight zone, kids observe light and color changes and paint glow-in-the-dark murals.

There are also magnet play and shape block zones that build focus and spatial skills.

1st floor: rest and learning

Reading room

The 1st floor is for kids and parents to stay and rest together.

The reading room has lots of children’s books to read freely,

and the counseling room and Snoezelen room offer programs for sensory stimulation and emotional calm.

The cafe and lounge serve simple drinks, but outside food isn’t allowed.

On nice days, kids can run around at the outdoor playground in front of the building.

2nd floor: arts, culture and creativity

Performance hall

The 2nd floor combines performances and education.

The main hall and small theater regularly host puppet shows, children’s plays and musicals,

Art studio

and the eco lab, art studio and workshop run programs on the environment, art and science.

The play attic is a free space for creative play.

Shows and classes require separate booking, so check the schedule and registration on the official website before you go.

Parking and Facilities

Parking is shared with the Dongnam-gu Office, on basement levels 2 and 3.

It’s free on weekdays, but for free parking on weekends and holidays, you must register your car number by 10 a.m. on Friday.

Unregistered cars are charged, so don’t forget.

Inside there are lockers, a nursing room and stroller and wheelchair rental,

and the information desk offers free child ID stickers.

The facility is spacious with a simple layout, so it’s easy to get around with kids.

Cheonan Children’s Kkumnuriteo truly brings children’s right to play to life.

More than an indoor playground, it naturally connects play with learning and feeling.

My child’s eyes sparkled all day,

and as a parent, I could relax and enjoy it too.

If you’re looking for a place to go with kids in Cheonan,

I highly recommend Cheonan Children’s Kkumnuriteo, fun even on rainy days.

The family trip itself was the best gift.
