On our 2024 trip to Vietnam with Yans, we stayed at Hyatt Regency Danang, a resort made for the perfect family vacation. There are many resorts in Da Nang, but I recommend this one because it’s great for relaxing and has excellent kids’ facilities, making it ideal for families with children or traveling with grandparents.
1. Check-In and Check-Out at Hyatt Regency Danang

Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient, and the friendly staff made sure families got to their rooms fast. We had an Ocean View King room, so we checked in at the Regency Club with no wait. Check-in is from 3 p.m., but we arrived at 2 p.m. and were let in early. Check-out is at 11 a.m., and if you have plans in the afternoon, you can store your luggage and enjoy the resort until the end. Our flight left after midnight, so we added a night to enjoy the resort before flying out.

2. Ocean View King Room
Our family of three chose the Ocean View King room. The bed is huge, perfect if your child is still in elementary school.

As soon as you walk in, a wall of windows frames the emerald sea. The view is breathtaking, and just being in the room feels like a vacation.

The balcony offers views of the sea and pools.

The room feels modern and cozy, and the king bed was so soft that we slept soundly from the first night. The sofa bed is very wide, so a family of four could use it for the fourth person. The bathroom is clean and spacious, easy for bathing kids, and the amenities are high quality.

There was even a welcome treat, a thoughtful touch, and each morning I enjoyed coffee while looking out at the sea.

3. Four Pools for the Whole Family
The pools were the biggest reason I chose Hyatt Regency Danang. As Yans has grown, he prefers resort pools to private pool villas, and with four large pools, there’s almost too much to explore.

With several types of pools, there’s something for everyone in the family.

The main pool is huge and feels like it flows right into the sea, perfect for photos. We swam with cool drinks during the day and relaxed in the water at sunset.

All four pools have plenty of sun loungers, so there’s no scramble for a spot.

Yans’s favorite was the kids’ pool, shallow and safe, which put me at ease. There’s a kids’ facility in the next building, and the pool area also has a playground and water play features.

The main pool hosts aqua aerobics set to music, a fun time when people from all over the world come together.

There’s also a quiet adults-only pool, great if you’re traveling with grandparents, with a bar nearby for cold drinks.

The variety of pools is what makes Hyatt Regency Danang so special.

4. Breakfast

We had breakfast at the resort’s buffet restaurant, with something for every taste. Since many Korean travelers stay here, there were Korean-style dishes alongside Vietnamese food, which made it easy for kids.

Breakfast is served in several places. On the first day we ate at Osteria Al Mare, which opens at 6:30 a.m., but at 8:30 there was a wait.

If you’d rather skip the wait, try breakfast at Vive Oceana Beach Club. It has the same menu with a beach view, and when we went on the second day, it wasn’t crowded at all.

The buffet includes fresh fruit, bread and made-to-order omelets, plus a pho corner, and breakfast is included in the room rate.

Hyatt Regency Danang is also well placed for Hoi An, a must on any Da Nang trip, and we got there easily by Grab. If you’re looking for a family destination, this resort is a top choice, with the charms of Da Nang and Hoi An nearby and excellent facilities for everyone, from kids to grandparents.
