At first, food in Italy was so novel that I photographed everything, but I soon grew tired of it. There was little variety beyond sandwiches and pizza, pizza, pizza. I ate pizza until I was sick of it.

One thing about food in Italy: everything was so salty. They say the hot Italian weather makes people sweat out salt, so the food is seasoned heavily, and that the limestone-rich water causes hair loss in men, which salty food supposedly prevents.
Sitting down to eat was rarely an option either. Most people ate standing on the street because restaurants charged a cover fee for the table, sometimes more than the food itself.

This cola cost a whopping 3 euros. As a first-timer, I got ripped off, probably marked as a tourist. Back home a can of cola costs less than 1,000 won, so 3 euros felt like a fortune. Never again, I vowed.
