Uiryeong Rich Rich Festival : Schedule, Parking and a Family Day Plan

Uiryeong Rich Rich Festival 2026 at a Glance

We planned our trip to Uiryeong around the closing day of the Uiryeong Rich Rich Festival. As of the 2026 edition, the festival ran October 2–5 around Uiryeong County Park and the famous Sotbawi (“cauldron rock”). Entry is free, with a few paid activities, and the closing day strings together a kids’ character show, hands-on programs and an evening concert.

  • Dates: October 2–5, 2026
  • Venue: Uiryeong County Park and the Sotbawi Rock area
  • Main site: 44 Uibyeong-ro 8-gil, Uiryeong-eup, Uiryeong-gun, South Gyeongsang
  • Admission: free (some activities paid)

For families, October 5 is a well-built day. Catch! Teenieping sing-along shows run at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., daytime brings the Rich Rich Money Play, a field-day event and river boat tours, and from 7 p.m. the Toyoae Harmony Concert takes over the multipurpose stadium with trot singers including Park Ji-hyun and Chungil.

Rather than trying to see everything, pick a core: one Teenieping show, a kids’ activity, Sotbawi Rock and, if energy allows, the evening concert.

Time Your Day Around the Teenieping Show

Catch! Teenieping sing-along show stage

If you are bringing young kids, check the Catch! Teenieping sing-along first. It runs twice at the multipurpose stadium, 11:00–12:00 and 15:00–16:00. If you can arrive early, the 11 a.m. show is the better choice; building the day around 3 p.m. makes everything before and after awkward, especially if you also want to visit Sotbawi.

There is more than the show. A Rich KidZania-style job experience runs at Gioreum Madang, and the gateball field hosts a Rich Arcade with wave racing, a giant roulette, bowling and golf. Sign-up is on site and limited to 300 participants a day, so go early rather than late.

Rich Rich Money Play for Elementary Kids

Kids trading goods at the Rich Rich Money Play booths

With an elementary-school child, the standout at the Uiryeong Rich Rich Festival is the Rich Rich Money Play, an economics game disguised as fun. Kids start with 5,000 “rich” in play money, then buy and sell at different shops while prices change over time, with mini missions such as popcorn tossing and guessing the weight of rice.

  • October 5, 12:00–18:00, at the Swing (Geune) parking lot
  • On-site registration, 5,000 won per person

Instead of telling your child it is a game about making lots of money, talk about why prices change and how the same item can cost different amounts in different places. It turns the activity into a real lesson.

Note that the Rich Field Day required pre-registration in 2026, so do not plan on joining it on site.

Don’t Skip Sotbawi Rock

Sotbawi Rock in the middle of the Namgang River

The festival’s story begins at Sotbawi, a cauldron-shaped rock in the middle of the Namgang River. Legend says great fortunes are born around it, and the founders of Samsung (Lee Byung-chul), LG (Koo In-hwoi) and Hyosung (Cho Hong-jai) were all born nearby, which made it Uiryeong’s signature story.

During the festival a floating bridge opens at 10 a.m., letting visitors walk close to the rock. It is worth the trip, because it explains why a small county named its festival “Rich Rich.”

The Rich boat tour (20,000 won, 80 people a day, about 40 minutes) required advance registration that closed September 30, so it is not a walk-up option on the 5th.

Parking at the Uiryeong Rich Rich Festival

The main site is Uiryeong County Park. The official parking map spreads visitors across several lots, including Uibyeong Culture & Sports Center, Seodong Administrative Town, the Future Education Center and the riverside area under Gongdan Bridge.

On the closing day, follow the on-site parking staff instead of fixing your navigation on one close lot and waiting. A shuttle runs between County Park and Sotbawi roughly 10:00–20:20, but the evening concert ends at 9 p.m., so if you plan to stay late, finish Sotbawi in daylight and return to the main site.

Our Family Plan for October 5

Family walking through the festival in the afternoon
  • 10:00 Arrive in Uiryeong, park, and get your bearings
  • 11:00 Catch! Teenieping sing-along show
  • 12:00 Lunch plus Rich Rich Money Play
  • 13:30–15:30 Sotbawi Rock, the floating bridge and Jeongamnu Pavilion
  • 16:00 Back to County Park for the arcade, job experience or food zone
  • 17:30–18:30 Dinner and a break
  • 19:00–21:00 Toyoae Harmony Concert

With toddlers or younger kids, there is no need to last until 9 p.m. The morning show, a hands-on activity and Sotbawi make a full day on their own. If your kids love live music and still have energy, staying for the concert ends the festival on a high note.

Extra Time? The Gigang Rich Flower Festival

Flower fields at Hoguk Uibyeong Forest riverside park

Uiryeong also hosts the Gigang Rich Flower Festival from September 24 to October 25 at the Hoguk Uibyeong Forest riverside park, with flower photo zones, a maze path and a children’s play area. If you are staying for the concert, skip it; if you wrap up around 4–5 p.m., it makes an easy last stop on the way home.

The Uiryeong Rich Rich Festival feels different from a typical concert-only local festival. With kids, you can link a character show, a hands-on economics game and the Sotbawi legend into one meaningful day.

Evening concert lights on the final night

October 5 is the only day with both the Teenieping show and the Toyoae concert, so it is worth planning as a full day out.
