If you’re taking kids to the Night Safari in Singapore, after buying entry tickets, make sure you know when show-seat booking opens. As of August 2026, the “Creatures of the Night” show ran at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 p.m., and seats could be reserved separately starting two hours before each show. An entry ticket doesn’t automatically secure a show seat.

Entry opens at 6 p.m., but the walking trails and the Safari Adventure Tram start at 7 p.m. With kids, choose an earlier entry slot rather than a late one.
Is an Entry Ticket Enough?

No. You book an entry date and time, then on the day you reserve show seats too. Show booking requires a valid ticket and entry slot, and children count as one person each. With a 7:15 p.m. entry, you can pick the 7:30, 8:30 or 9:30 show; with 7:45 entry, 8:30 or later. For families, the 8:30 show balances best: ride the tram at 7, or walk one short trail, then see the show and do the rest afterward.
A Four-Hour Route with Kids

Arrive at 5:50 p.m., use the restroom and get your mobile ticket ready. After entering at 6, eat and check your show booking; trams and trails start at 7.

At 7 p.m., ride the Safari Adventure Tram first. Animals take time to spot in the dark, so give kids a game like finding three animals on each side.

Head to the amphitheater at 8:15 for the 8:30 show. If kids still have energy, choose one or two of the four walking trails rather than all of them. Start heading back around 10 p.m.; the park is open until midnight, but late nights plus jet lag and daytime sightseeing are hard on elementary kids.
Getting There from Khatib MRT

The official route is the Mandai Khatib Shuttle (M2) from Khatib MRT (NS14), running daily from 8:30 a.m. to midnight, roughly every 15 minutes at normal times. One way for a family of three from Khatib was S$7.50. At night, kids get tired and shuttle queues build, so a taxi home can make sense depending on your hotel.
What to Pack

Bring light, breathable long sleeves, non-slip sneakers, mosquito repellent, a small umbrella or rain poncho, water and a power bank. Night photos blur easily, so learn your phone’s night mode beforehand.
Pros and Cons

The Night Safari shows animals at their most active at night and combines a tram, trails and a show in one place, letting you avoid the daytime heat. On the downside, show seats need a separate booking, young kids may miss animals in the dark, it ends late, and you’ll need to prepare for mosquitoes, rain and humidity.
