This post introduces a place in Yeongdong, Chungcheongbuk-do, to spend a full day with kids:
the Yeongdong Fruit Land Theme Park.
If you’re looking for a place to visit with kids in Yeongdong,

I recommend this park, with free entry and even fruit picking.
It’s a family destination where kids play, learn and relax in nature,
and it’s become a popular hands-on spot among parents.
Fun for All the Senses: Fruit Picking With Kids
The Yeongdong Fruit Land Theme Park is themed on Yeongdong’s five signature fruits: grapes, apples, pears, peaches and plums.
About a thousand fruit trees grow on roughly 86,000 square meters,
so kids can see and feel nature’s process as if on a real farm.

Fruit picking (July–October)
* Picking grapes, apples and more, depending on the season.
* Fees vary by fruit (per kilogram: grapes 5,000 won; peaches, apples, pears and plums 4,000 won),
so book ahead on the website or by phone.
* Kids especially love it because it’s not just picking but harvesting nature’s fruit themselves.
Visiting in November? Try These Activities Instead of Fruit Picking!

November is when most outdoor fruit picking at the Yeongdong Fruit Land Theme Park ends.
Don’t worry, though. It’s exactly when the park shines as an indoor activity destination.

November’s key theme: year-round fruit processing and cooking classes
* In late autumn, cooking classes in a warm indoor space are the most popular.
* Main programs: fruit pizza, cookies, apple pie, fruit chocolate and toast

* Kids taste what they make, feeling proud and having fun at the same time.
* Booking required: all cooking classes must be booked by phone five days ahead (043-740-3657)
November is busy with groups, so book early!
November’s healing spaces: the Rainbow Botanical Garden and Banana Land
* Even in chilly weather, you can relax in the warm subtropical greenhouse.
* With about 200 tropical plant species and banana trees, it’s an unusual sight for kids.
* The Banana Land area is also a popular photo spot.
* Entry is free, so it’s a great healing course for late autumn.
Tip: in November, plan around indoor activities rather than outdoor ones.
Combine the Rainbow Botanical Garden with the Yeongdong Wine Tunnel for a perfect indoor day.
Rainy Day? No Problem! Indoor Healing Spaces

There are plenty of indoor spaces to enjoy regardless of the weather.
* Rainbow Botanical Garden: a greenhouse full of about 200 subtropical plant species.
* World fruit garden and Banana Land: exhibits that spark kids’ curiosity.
* Fruit promotion hall and insect hall: learning spaces about the history and ecology of Yeongdong fruit.

Being able to enjoy indoor activities with kids on rainy or cold days is a big plus.
A New Playground and Lawn: Healing for the Whole Family

The Yeongdong Fruit Land Theme Park has a newly renovated large playground.

Fruit-shaped slides and climbing structures let kids run around freely.

On the wide lawn next to it, you can spread a mat for a picnic
or even enjoy some water play in summer.
Barrier-free access (strollers and wheelchairs) and a toddler playroom
make it perfect for families with kids.

Among family destinations in Chungcheongbuk-do, the Yeongdong Fruit Land Theme Park
was a perfect family attraction with free entry, indoor and outdoor activities and a new playground.
It’s a place to feel the joy of harvesting fruit and the calm of nature at once.
Some weekend,
spend a day at the Yeongdong Fruit Land Theme Park
full of sweet fruit scents and laughter.
The family trip itself was the best gift.
