I’m introducing Ihwawon Private in Buldang-dong, Cheonan, where you can truly feel the elegance of Chinese cuisine.
It’s Cheonan’s go-to private Chinese restaurant for quiet, formal occasions like family introductions, family banquets and business meetings,
and it’s already well known for its upscale space and impeccable service.
Elegant Space and Total Privacy: Room Dining at Ihwawon Private

Stepping into Ihwawon Private felt like facing a calm East Asian ink painting.

Soft lighting and wood interiors blend together, and I thought it was perfect for a family introduction meeting.

* Each room is fully separate, so we couldn’t hear other guests at all.
* Rooms range from small ones for two to large ones for 10 or more, so you can choose to suit the occasion.
* The service was very attentive, pacing each course smoothly so we could focus on conversation.
Reservation tip: Private rooms require advance booking. They fill up quickly on weekend evenings and holidays, so book at least 2–3 days ahead. (Inquiries: 041-565-8800)
Formal Courses or Flexible A La Carte
The charm of Ihwawon Private is the range of choice.
The menu spans formal course meals and a la carte dishes to share.
1. Formal course meals

Course meals suit important family introductions or VIP hosting.
The weekday lunch course from 33,000 won runs through salad, soup, popular dishes, a meal and dessert, a good value,
while private courses from about 60,000 won include Chinese classics like yusanseul, prawns and palbochae.
The top-end dinner special course (from 120,000 won) features premium ingredients like abalone, pine mushrooms and live lobster.
2. Our a la carte combination
At our gathering, we ordered a variety of a la carte dishes instead of a course.
The plates in the center of the table quickly filled with color and aroma, the essence of Chinese cooking.

* The yusanseul combined tender seafood and vegetables for a refined flavor, with a perfectly thick sauce.

* The kkansho shrimp was wonderfully plump, with a sweet and spicy sauce that whetted the appetite.

* The tangsuyuk had a crispy batter soaked with sweet and sour sauce, a hit with every age.

* The nurungji-tang was the highlight of the meal, with deep broth and nutty scorched rice that warmed us to the core.

* We finished with jjajangmyeon and jjamppong. Smoky jjamppong broth and savory jjajangmyeon made a perfect ending.
Recommended a la carte set:
Yusanseul, a seafood dish (kkansho shrimp), tangsuyuk, nurungji-tang and a noodle dish (jjajangmyeon or jjamppong)
This combination was the most balanced and satisfying.
