Last April, we went to Samcheok, Gangwon-do with my parents-in-law and my husband. I am only posting this late out of sheer laziness.

The day before, I had stopped by Sungsimdang on a Daejeon business trip and bought a mountain of bread for road snacks. Enough to never want bread again. We left early in the morning for Samcheok.

The sky was so clear and the weather was great. Wow. On the way, we met my parents-in-law at the Pyeongchang rest stop for brunch.

I suddenly craved ramyeon, so I had ramyeon.

Then we drove on to the Samcheok Beongae Market my husband had wanted to see. It is across from Samcheok Station.

But the Beongae Market was… huh? So deserted. Is this really the cheap, bustling Beongae Market?

Turns out Beongae Market is a dawn-only market. What a shame. Off to the next stop.

Samcheok Station looks like an old station, so pretty. But the disappointment of the Samcheok Beongae Market. We did not know, so what could we do. We were getting so hungry. Time to take mom and dad out to eat.
