Gujwa Sanghoe Jeju: Carrot Cake at a Vintage Woljeongri Cafe

Walking around the Woljeongri cafe street, one cafe caught my eye with its beautiful atmosphere. Hearing it was a cake shop, I went in full of curiosity.

It had a distinctly Jeju feel, like a home, with a vintage touch.

The menu. We ordered hallabong tea, lemon tea, and carrot cake. It turns out this place is famous for carrot cake and black tea, and the carrot cake is so delicious that people come back for it. There are outdoor tables too.

We went into the room side and sat down.

Our seat was by a pretty window with sunlight streaming in.

The room had just two tables, so it felt like we were the only ones there, which was lovely.

The carrot cake and drinks were so delicious. Even my husband, who dislikes sweet things, said it was good. I wanted to buy a whole carrot cake to take home. It was that good, and writing this I crave it again.

The atmosphere was completely my taste. We ate well and headed out.

The cafe atmosphere was wonderful, and the cafe itself was delicious. Gujwa Sanghoe is worth a stop for the ocean view alone. Next time I’m in Jeju, I must stop by Gujwa Sanghoe again.
