Pizza in Tongyeong sounds like a mismatch until you hear the menu: oyster pizza, shrimp pizza, sea squirt pizza, abalone pizza. The Tongyeong Pizza sits on the climb up to Dongpirang, and its Tongyeong oyster pizza is the reason to stop.
On the way up
We returned to Dongpirang and found a dalgona candy vendor on the slope, with kids waiting eagerly for their turn. It brought back childhood memories of sitting with a hundred won in hand.

Back on the path, across from the Dongpirang climb, sits The Tongyeong Pizza.

Inside the retro shop
The shop leans hard into retro style, with old school uniforms on the walls, Apollo candy, and paper dolls from childhood. The owner’s playful taste shows in every corner.

The menu lists oyster, shrimp, sea squirt, and abalone pizzas with prices clearly posted.

The oyster pizza to go
We chose takeout over dining in. The box is unusually long, because the pizza itself is long, with clever slits cut in for easy eating.

Fragrant with oyster and genuinely tasty, though a touch salty. Still, eating Tongyeong oyster pizza after the climb felt like exactly the right local twist.
