Odaidokoro Furari
Across from the Best Western where I stayed, there was a Nagoya Japanese restaurant serving home-style dishes. I had meant to try it once, but Nagoya has so many places to eat that I kept postponing it. On the morning we flew home, I visited for breakfast instead before heading back to Korea. Luckily, the shop opens early in the morning.

“Kamado de gohan!” Kamado means both a traditional stove and a household, so it translates to home-cooked rice!

The restaurant is called Odaidokoro Furari. Quite a few people were eating even early in the morning.

Outside, there are plastic models of the home-style dishes. They looked delicious as models. Inside the restaurant!

The counter and kitchen. I thought they would serve the menu displayed outside, but mornings have a separate breakfast menu. So I ordered from the breakfast menu. It seemed connected to a nearby hotel breakfast: some people brought breakfast coupons and ate the same menu. Anyway, we went with the breakfast menu too.

Ta-da! This is the breakfast menu I ordered. Nothing fancy: miso soup, rolled omelet, and side dishes. But the rolled omelet was really delicious.

And this is what my sister ordered, just with mackerel added.

It was decent, and above all cheap. I wanted to try other home-style dishes at this Nagoya Japanese restaurant too, which is a shame. Sayonara from here!
