When planning a family trip to Hong Kong, choosing accommodation is always a dilemma. It needs a good location, enough space for kids and a reasonable price, and this time I also wanted a kitchen for simple cooking.
After comparing many options, I found EAST Residences, and it turned out to be the best decision of the whole trip.

A Hidden Gem in Quarry Bay
EAST Residences is a fairly new serviced apartment building in Quarry Bay, at the heart of Taikoo Place. It’s a little different from a typical hotel, combining hotel convenience with the comfort of home.
Being relatively new, it’s clean with a modern feel.

There are 106 apartments ranging from studios to penthouses, suitable for short-stay travelers, long-term business guests and families alike.
One-Bedroom Suite: 68 Square Meters of Space
We stayed in a One Bedroom Suite and loved it. About 68 square meters (735 sq ft), it has a king-size bed, a fully separate living room and a full-size kitchen.

The spacious living room stood out. Kids can play freely in the living room while adults rest quietly in the bedroom.
We added an extra bed in the living room, which makes it roomy enough for a family of three or four.

Compared with typical Hong Kong hotel rooms it’s far bigger; we could open two large suitcases and still have space left.
Facilities That Felt Like Home
- Full kitchen: everything from dishes to cookware is provided, so we could make simple breakfasts like the instant ramen we brought from Korea.

There’s a water purifier and a full range of dishes, bowls, pots and cups.
- Bose sound system: I loved playing soft music in the evening while sorting through travel photos.

- Smart TV: my child could watch Netflix comfortably, a great way to unwind after a long day.
Why I Recommend EAST Residences for Families
1. A quiet, pleasant location
It’s a five-minute walk to Quarry Bay MTR station, yet quieter than central areas, which is better for families. It wasn’t noisy at night, so my child slept well and we could rest too.

2. A spacious room really matters
Most Hong Kong hotels are small, but this one is so spacious that staying as a family was easy. We could unpack everyone’s luggage and spend relaxed time together in the living room.

3. A kitchen made the trip special
Being able to cook simple meals is a bigger advantage than you’d think. Morning coffee, sliced fruit and tidy takeout dinners at the table also helped us save money.
Solid Service Basics
There’s a 24-hour fitness center, a quiet lounge and a landscaped terrace with city views. Housekeeping is excellent, so the apartment stayed fresh every day.
Honest Review: The Downsides
No place is perfect. There’s no breakfast service, which was a shame.
Instead, EAST Hong Kong hotel, about a 10-minute walk away, serves brunch from noon.
We didn’t have time to try it, but it’s worth a visit if you can.
It’s a bit far from the main shopping districts, which may be inconvenient for shopping-focused travelers. Still, the positives more than made up for these drawbacks.
A Place I’d Return to on My Next Hong Kong Trip
EAST Residences isn’t just a hotel; it’s a place you can truly live in. Whether for business or a family trip, I confidently recommend it to anyone looking for a spacious, quiet and homey stay.

Next time I’m in Hong Kong, I’ll book here again without hesitation, especially for a family trip with kids.
