Looking for one special meal in Ho Chi Minh City? We had a Hilton Saigon lunch with our child at the Chinese restaurant on the hotel’s 39th floor. Here’s our review of the weekday set lunch, with a sweeping city view and a refined Chinese course menu.
Hilton Saigon Lunch Above the City

Street food is great in Ho Chi Minh City, but traveling with kids, sometimes you want a quiet, comfortable place with proper service.

Escaping the heat for a cool hotel lunch with a view is a great way to recharge mid-trip.

The restaurant sits on the 39th floor of the Hilton Saigon. Anticipation built as the elevator climbed, and the panoramic view of the city when the doors opened was stunning.

Atmosphere and Service: Comfortable with Kids
Traveling with kids, you often worry whether a place is too formal or crowded. Despite the upscale atmosphere, the staff here were attentive to our child.

Wide round tables and comfy sofa seats kept our child settled, and the miniature-like cityscape through the floor-to-ceiling windows kept boredom away.

The Weekday Set Lunch Menu
The weekday set lunch runs from appetizer to dessert, making the Hilton Saigon lunch an easy choice if you hate deciding.

Appetizer
The appetizer brings three items neatly arranged on one plate.

- Cantonese roast duck and Macau-style crispy pork belly

Crispy outside and juicy inside, this was a dish our child loved.

- Lotus root and wood ear mushrooms with Sichuan dressing: lightly spicy and crunchy, a great appetite opener.

Soup
There were two soup options, and we chose the nourishing one.

- Black garlic, shiitake and black chicken soup: deep, rich broth with a gentle black garlic aroma.

- Vegetarian shiitake and vegetable soup: clean and light, a good pick if you prefer mild flavors.
Main Course
You can choose your main course too.

- Five-spice braised beef shank: tender and melt-in-your-mouth.

- Steamed tiger prawns with garlic sauce and glass noodles: a whole large prawn, rich garlic aroma, and noodles soaking up the sauce.

- Scallop and char siu fried rice: smoky and savory, one of the kids’ favorites.
- Stir-fried flat rice noodles with soy sauce and smoked duck: chewy noodles with a salty-savory sauce.

Dessert
Dessert is light and clean.
- Seasonal fresh fruit, sweet and neatly cut.
- Sweet white fungus soup with longan and lotus seeds: a warm, traditional Chinese dessert that feels wholesome.

Tips for Your Visit
- Book a window seat: to enjoy the 39th-floor view, reserve a window table in advance.

The view of downtown and the Saigon River makes the meal taste twice as good.
- With kids: the garlic prawns and fried rice are the safest combo.

The seasoning is mild, so it’s easy for kids to eat.

- Dim sum: on weekdays there’s also a dim sum set lunch if you want something lighter.
For a proper course meal, though, we highly recommend the set lunch we had.

Is It Worth It?
Our Hilton Saigon lunch felt like a special pause in the trip: polished hotel service, a refined Chinese course and a view that’s a treat for the eyes.

It’s great for couples and for families like ours. It’s pricey by Vietnamese standards, but the quality and atmosphere make it worth it.
If you’re celebrating something in Ho Chi Minh City or planning a nice meal with parents or kids, add the Hilton Saigon 39th floor to your list.
