In June 2024 we stayed at Kensington Resort Jirisan Namwon, and I had no idea Namwon was such a beautiful city. We stayed on a weekend, and the large parking lot made parking easy.
Here’s our family stay at Kensington Resort Jirisan Namwon, where we enjoyed a proper kids’ getaway and explored the area.
Rooms at Kensington Resort Jirisan Namwon
The renovated deluxe room has stylish interiors and a beautiful river view.
Premium beds, luxurious bedding and an aroma diffuser melted away our everyday fatigue.
The room is modern and warm, with thoughtfully arranged furniture. The bed is soft and spacious enough to share with a child, and the clean, cozy bedding helped us sleep soundly.
The living area has a large TV, sofa and small table, and the kitchenette with a microwave, fridge, induction cooktop and cookware lets you prepare simple meals.
The view from the floor-to-ceiling terrace windows was the best part, and the river view in the morning was unforgettable.
The bathroom is spacious and clean, with branded shampoo, conditioner, body wash and soap, and plenty of towels.
Facilities
Kensington Resort Jirisan Namwon has plenty of facilities, ideal for families.
There’s a convenience store on site for anything you need during your trip.
Cafe Gate on the first floor is a lovely spot for coffee and dessert with a view. You can also try Jirisan black pork barbecue, a Namwon specialty. In 2024, the pool was free for guests from July 5 to August 16, with a shallow area where kids can play safely. We visited in June so we missed it, but I’d love to return in summer.
The family restaurant Ruwon serves a breakfast buffet made with fresh ingredients that pleased the whole family, and there are plenty of other facilities too.
Breakfast and Patbingsu Smoothie
Kensington’s breakfast is known for being delicious.
We also tried the patbingsu smoothie, perfect for summer and really tasty.
The resort also has an outdoor water play area for kids.

Gwanghallu is a beautiful traditional garden for a peaceful stroll with kids. Flowers and trees make great photo spots, and crossing the bridges over the pond was lovely.
Chunhyang Theme Park
Chunhyang Theme Park has plenty of activities and programs kids enjoy, so they never got bored.
Suji Art Museum
Suji Art Museum’s exhibitions are a great way to spark kids’ creativity.
Aerospace Observatory
Visit around the 10th day of the lunar month to see the moon, and daytime programs offer planet viewing.
It was the place Yans remembered most.
Namwon Land
Namwon Land is packed with rides and attractions for a full day of fun for kids and adults. For a summer family getaway, Kensington Resort Jirisan Namwon offers relaxing nature and great facilities.
