This was our third beach in Jeju. We came to Woljeongri Beach, the trendy spot in Jeju these days. The sea is completely emerald. As luck would have it, a marathon event was being held that day.

The sea is so beautiful.

There were many people, and as expected, parking was tight.

The iconic Woljeongri chair and harbang are the photo points, and everyone was taking turns for photos. While walking around, I spotted a Kim Yuna mural and burst out laughing, so I took a photo.

It’s not Kim Yuna, though. Woljeongri has a pretty cafe street.

The stone walls are pretty, and there seem to be many lovely guesthouses. This is jeongnang, the traditional Jeju gate, which means someone is home.

We rented electric bikes to look around. We rented a two-person electric bike. You can rent them individually, but since I’m pregnant, we went for the two-person one. If you’re not confident riding, the two-person rental is fun too. A single is 15,000 won for 30 minutes, and a double is 20,000 won for 30 minutes, which is cheaper for the price at the time of our visit.

We rode the coastal road from Woljeongri to Gimnyeong Seongsegi Beach on the back seat. There was kayaking there too, which looked nice. We thought about kayaking but saved it for next time.

Jeju is windy, so there were wind turbines near the beach.

Riding the coastal road on an electric scooter is such a great feeling. It was really fun. Riding behind my husband after a long time, holding him tight, felt like dating again. It reminded me of our Jeonju trip on a rented scooter long ago. If you come to Woljeongri Beach, I recommend renting a scooter and riding the coastal road. Jeju’s bike paths are well developed, so it’s not dangerous at all.
Prices, hours and details in this post are from our visit in May 2017 and may have changed, so check the latest information before you go.
