Goseong Sunrise Park in Donghae-myeon, Gyeongnam, is a still little-known sunrise spot, perfect for a New Year sunrise or a weekend drive. Here’s how to get there, what to do and tips for visiting.
Location and How to Get to Goseong Sunrise Park

Goseong Sunrise Park sits in Naesan-ri, Donghae-myeon (around Deokho-ri, Hai-myeon), close to Changwon and Masan. Cross Dongjin Bridge and follow the coastal road, and it appears naturally. The road itself was chosen as one of Korea’s 100 most beautiful roads, with cobalt-blue sea filling the windows.
- Address: around San 50-1, Naesan-ri, Donghae-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do
- Parking: plenty of free parking
- Tip: search “Goseong Sunrise Park” or “Dongjin Bridge” in your navigation app; it’s 30–40 minutes from Changwon.
In 2025 this coastal road was named one of Gyeongnam’s 13 best drives. Past Dongjin Bridge, blue sea and small fishing villages unfold, perfect for photos.
Why Goseong Sunrise Park Is a Great Sunrise Spot

As the name suggests, it’s famous for the first sunrise of the year, but it’s lovely in every season. The open coastline makes the sun rising over the sea truly majestic, and with few crowds (unlike Jeongdongjin or Homigot), you can enjoy it at leisure.
- Sunrise viewpoints: the octagonal pavilion and wooden deck trail are best; from the end of the deck the horizon stretches endlessly.
- Special touch: mother and baby dinosaur sculptures, symbols of Goseong, the “dinosaur county,” make cute photo spots.
- New Year event: in 2025, a small sunrise event with wish lanterns was held at the park.
We visited in the daytime and missed the sunrise. Sunrise times vary by season, so check “Goseong sunrise time” before you go.
Things to Do at Goseong Sunrise Park

The park is small but packed.
1. Walk the trail: a deck path follows the coastal cliffs for an easy stroll; windy but refreshing. 2. Photo spot tour: dinosaur sculptures, the pavilion and a glass observation section. 3. Nearby trips: drive the Dongjin Bridge–Deokgok Village coastal road, stop at an ocean-view cafe or continue to Sangjogam County Park.

4. Seasonal charm: cool sea breezes in summer, foliage and sea in autumn, and the New Year sunrise in winter.
There are plenty of glamping sites nearby, so it works as an overnight trip too. It suits family trips, couples and solo healing trips alike.
Visiting Tips for Goseong Sunrise Park

- Dress warmly for a New Year sunrise; the sea wind is bitterly cold.
- It’s not crowded, so bring a picnic mat or camping chair for more comfort.
- Nearby food: oyster dishes and fresh seafood in Donghae-myeon, with plenty of home-style restaurants such as Suyang Sikdang.
- As of 2025, admission is free and it’s open year-round.

Goseong Sunrise Park isn’t commercial, so the nature here is unspoiled.

Among Gyeongnam Goseong’s lesser-known places, Goseong Sunrise Park is a top pick. Making a wish while watching the sunrise here is something you won’t regret.
