Jeju Island trip that I couldn’t write because I was sick and busy

Finally resumed!

Still on the first day..

We had pork at the Samgeori butcher shop on the first night

but it wasn’t as good as expected and I wanted to eat something delicious

Coincidentally, my sister-in-law was flying to Jeju late at night after finishing work

So my husband and I left Ian with his grandparents

and went to Jeju Airport to pick up my sister-in-law

On my way there, I looked for something tasty that I could take home

Since it was late at night, there weren’t many places open

I was looking for something that could be paired with alcohol, only available in Jeju

My husband had been singing praises about the bigeye tuna sashimi since before we went to Jeju

Looking for a place that had it nearby, haha

I wasn’t actually looking for a bigeye tuna sashimi

We just thought we’d look for a place that does takeout

So we found a sashimi restaurant nearby that was open

and it unexpectedly turned out to be a specialty of bigeye tuna sashimi

Nice Mackerel~~~

So we went there (Couldn’t take a photo of the sashimi restaurant)

It turned out to be a famous bigeye tuna sashimi restaurant, haha

The owner was quite busy

And there was a bigeye tuna hanging up for display, haha

I was debating whether to just buy the bigeye tuna sashimi

But I found that they also had mackerel sashimi which can only be eaten in Jeju!

What a catch!

So I found sashimi and my sister-in-law and headed back to Jeju Shinhwa World~

Fortunately, Ian was sleeping

At that late hour, my parents-in-law, husband, sister-in-law, and I had a sashimi party!!

In fact, it was my first time tasting both sashimi, so I was half excited and half worried, haha

But since it’s a specialty of Jeju, it must be delicious

I heard that some people come to Jeju just for the bigeye tuna sashimi, so it must be good

I took a bite

It was soft like trout or salmon sashimi

and it wasn’t greasy

My husband was ecstatic, saying it was so delicious

In addition to the bigeye tuna sashimi, we also received pancakes and fried fish as a service

The fried fish was left for Ian to eat the next day

But he developed hives

(The oil seemed a bit old)

Even the pancakes were delicious

And I also tried mackerel sashimi

For the first time

What if the mackerel sashimi is fishy?

But I heard mackerel sashimi is something special that can only be eaten in Jeju, so I was trying mackerel sashimi for the first time

I learned that there is a way to eat it

You mix the seasoning sauce with chopped green onion

You put rice on seaweed

You add the mackerel sashimi and the green onion mixed with the seasoning

And then you wrap it up and eat

Oh, it was tastier than I expected

The texture is chewy

It’s not fishy at all

My husband said it was so delicious and was thrilled
