I’m sharing a one-day Macau itinerary that felt like visiting three European countries in a single day.

Instead of the Macau Peninsula, we spent the whole day exploring the Cotai Strip and its dazzling resorts!
Here you can experience Italy, France and Britain in just one day.
1. Morning on the Cotai Strip: Italian Romance at The Venetian Macao

The obvious first stop on the Cotai Strip is The Venetian Macao.

Marble columns, ornate ceilings and indoor canals:
it feels just like St. Mark’s Square in Venice.
* Suggested time: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
* Highlights: Grand Canal Shoppes, gondola ride, Portuguese egg tarts

At the Grand Canal Shoppes on the 3rd floor, gondolas glide along a narrow canal under a sky-blue ceiling.
Ride while the gondolier sings a serenade. Even indoors, it feels like real Venetian sunshine.
Tip: Gondola rides are quieter in the morning, and a quick brunch of egg tarts and coffee at the food court makes the perfect route.
2. Afternoon: French Romance at The Parisian Macao

A 10-minute walk from The Venetian takes you into a romantic Parisian mood.

The Parisian Macao boasts a one-third-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower,
which has become an icon of the Cotai Strip.
* Suggested time: 2 to 4 p.m.
* Highlights: Eiffel Tower photo zone, observation deck, Champs-Elysees street
The pedestrian bridge in front of the Eiffel Tower is the best photo spot!

Shoot in the golden light at dusk and it looks like you’re really in Paris.
If you have time, head up to the 37th-floor observation deck for a view over Cotai.
Tip: Observation deck tickets are cheaper online than on-site.
3. Evening: British Elegance at The Londoner Macao

In the evening, head to the Cotai Strip’s newest landmark, The Londoner Macao.
Its architecture, recreating London’s Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace, is stunning.
* Suggested time: 6 to 8 p.m.
* Highlights: Changing of the guard, British dining, Buckingham Palace performance

The changing of the guard performance in the square each evening is free to watch,

and you can feel the grandeur of Britain.
For dinner, try classic British dishes like fish and chips or roast beef at a restaurant inside The Londoner.

Tip: Check performance times on the official website before you go.
4. Night: The Golden Finale of the Cotai Strip

Macau’s nights are so dazzling that people say it’s more European than Europe.
The Venetian, the Parisian, the Londoner

and on to Wynn Palace, the festival of lights
truly earns the name “Las Vegas of Asia.”
* Suggested time: 9 to 10 p.m.
* Highlights: Wynn Palace fountain show, Golden Reel Ferris wheel, night walk

In front of Wynn Palace, right next to The Londoner,

a fountain show bursts to music. (Free to watch)

Finally, at Studio City’s Golden Reel, ride the figure-eight

Ferris wheel,
and the day’s fatigue melts into the dazzling night view.
Tip: Free shuttle buses between resorts save on taxi fares, and most places accept Hong Kong dollars.
Cotai Strip day trip tips
* Free shuttle buses: Well connected between the airport, ferry terminals and resorts, so getting around is easy.
* Wear comfortable shoes: It’s a full day, so sneakers are a must!
* Check entertainment times: Guard ceremony and fountain show schedules change often.
* Bring a layer: The resorts are strongly air-conditioned.
