Flying Home from Nagoya: Kishimen Noodles at Chubu Airport

Flying Home from Nagoya

After finishing our 2-night, 3-day Nagoya trip, it was time to head back to Korea. Is the trip really over just like that? For the return, we decided to take the train from Nagoya Station to Chubu Airport.

For 2 nights and 3 days, I wonder if I was a good tour guide for my sister and her two kids. I think I navigated without getting lost, pretty good for a trip with no preparation.

Ticketing went well, though this part was a bit tricky.

I truly sacrificed myself for the mother and kids. But… I thought we would take the express this time, yet misjudged the time again and ended up on the local train. My nephew asked why the “express” was so slow. Sorry!

My sister and nephew sat across from me. After about 40 minutes, we arrived back at the airport! We quickly found the Jeju Air check-in and checked in.

And once again, we went looking for food. Back up to the 4th floor.

We debated going back to Yabaton, but decided to try Nagoya kishimen, a Nagoya specialty we had not tried yet. The Nagoya kishimen shop is in the restaurant area.

This is the kishimen place. Just kishimen would be boring, so we also ordered Japanese ramen: tonkotsu ramen!

The ramen is also ordered at the food court.

So I dipped the meat into the broth.

My nephew wanted a hot dog, so we ordered one, but it was not very tasty.

And tenmusu! Rice balls. Underneath is kishimen.

Nagoya kishimen noodles are super thick, just like udon with that texture. I had expectations, but the taste was just so-so. Should have gone to Yabaton one more time.

After eating, we went inside the airport. This is the duty-free shop at Nagoya Chubu Airport. It is small but has everything.

We bought snacks while wandering the duty-free shop. Gifts for coworkers.

And I bought this miso udon too.

I did not get to taste it and gave it to my partner as a homecoming gift. He said it was tasty. Finally, time to leave Nagoya.

Boarding at Chubu Airport

We flew back to Seoul on Jeju Air, the way we came.

Goodbye Nagoya! I will come back again with my partner next time!
