For an easy autumn outing near Seoul this October, add the 2026 Goyang Autumn Flower Festival to your plans. It runs October 1–11 around the Theme Plaza at Ilsan Lake Park, with missions and activities for kids alongside the flower displays — and admission is free.
Here’s what flowers you’ll see, what to do with kids, parking and other places to visit in Goyang.
1. Goyang Autumn Flower Festival 2026: Dates and Admission

- Dates: October 1–11, 2026
- Hours: 09:00–18:00
- Venue: Theme Plaza, Ilsan Lake Park
- Address: 10 Norumok-ro, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do
- Admission: free
- Highlights: autumn flower gardens, photo zones, flower market, activities and cultural events
Goyang City’s official materials describe outdoor displays, photo zones, a flower market and cultural events around the Theme Plaza.
Unlike the large paid Goyang International Flower Show in spring, think of it as a lakeside autumn stroll with gardens and activities. With kids, allow 2–3 hours including the activities.
2. Why Go: The “Autumn Palette” Garden
The 2026 theme is “Autumn Palette.”
The story: Goyang’s mascot cat, “Goyang Goyangi,” turns painter and completes the garden with autumn colors. Chrysanthemums, kochia and sedges are used, many grown by local Goyang flower farms.

The first thing you’ll spot is a Goyang Goyangi sculpture over 5 m tall, and plant artworks featuring the cat are hidden in the garden — fun to hunt for with kids.
There are cosmos and zinnia beds, space, jungle and dessert-themed areas, and a “30th Birthday Party” zone ahead of the Goyang International Flower Show’s 30th anniversary in 2027.
For photos, explore the themed areas, not just the main garden.
3. With Kids, Start With Flower Bingo
What makes the Goyang Autumn Flower Festival a good family outing is the kids’ programs.

Flower Bingo has kids complete missions around the garden — much more engaging than just looking at flowers, and it naturally takes you around the whole venue.
“Flower Fishing” lets kids “fish” for pressed flowers to find a lucky flower — short and fine even for little ones.

For local history, visit the Bap Halmeoni Experience Hall, about the Goyang heroine said to have helped General Gwon Yul during the Battle of Haengju.

4. Flower Water Bikes
With kids, don’t miss the flower water bikes — pedal across the lake and take in the park from the water. It’s a nice change from walking through flower beds.

5. Events at the Goyang Flower Exhibition Hall
The exhibition hall hosts separate events during the festival.

PIATE 2026, an international art fair of contemporary Asian art, runs October 1–4 (separate paid ticket). The Gyeonggi Craft Culture Festival follows October 8–11, and a talk concert with poets and musicians runs October 9–11 (also paid).
For flowers alone, any date works; for crafts and performances, aim for October 8–11.
6. Parking
Drivers use the Ilsan Lake Park parking lots.

The official rate is 90 KRW per 5 minutes, or 2,000 KRW per car during events; check on-site signs for the rate on your day.
Set your navigation to 10 Norumok-ro, Ilsandong-gu. With kids, include a lake walk rather than rushing through the festival.
7. Nearby Places in Goyang
Add one family spot around Ilsan Lake Park or KINTEX for a full day.
Aqua Planet Ilsan
Great for switching to an indoor attraction after the outdoor festival — popular with toddlers to elementary schoolers, and ideal on cloudy or rainy days.
Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang

My top pick for a family route. The exhibition space is open 09:00–20:00; hands-on exhibits have separate hours and conditions (adults 10,000 KRW, teens 7,000 KRW, children 5,000 KRW; some require reservations). Learning how cars are made and about future mobility adds a learning element for elementary schoolers.
One Mount
If the kids want more play, One Mount is in the same Ilsan area. Facilities and programs vary by season, so check the day’s information first.
How to Enjoy the Goyang Autumn Flower Festival With Kids
The festival is free at Ilsan Lake Park until October 11. Flower photos alone can bore kids, but Flower Bingo, Flower Fishing, the Bap Halmeoni hall and flower water bikes keep families busy.
For a light outing, pair the festival with a lake walk; for a full day, add Aqua Planet or Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang. It’s a great early-October choice near Seoul for flowers, activities and a stroll in one trip.
