Hanjeongseon Chapssaltteok in Seongsu: Seoul’s Fruit Mochi Shop, Prices and a Seoul Forest Route

If you’re hunting for K-desserts in Seongsu, Seoul’s trendiest neighborhood, Hanjeongseon is the name that keeps coming up.

Hanjeongseon pairs traditional chapssaltteok (sweet glutinous rice cakes, similar to mochi) with fresh fruit, yogurt and pistachio. It started in Seongsu, has expanded to Seoul Station and major department stores, and a recent GS25 convenience-store collaboration has made it even more popular.

October 2026 also brings new products and a pop-up. If you’re visiting Seongsu, combine it with Seoul Forest rather than making a trip just for rice cakes.

1. Hanjeongseon Seongsu Flagship: Location and Hours

The Seongsu flagship is on the first floor of 43-1 Yeonmujang-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul.

According to the official website, it’s open daily 10:30–22:00, year-round. Besides Seongsu, Hanjeongseon has stores at Seoul Station, Shinsegae Gangnam, The Hyundai Seoul, Hyundai Trade Center and Pangyo, Lotte World Mall Jamsil and Lotte Department Store’s main branch.

The flagship is more for picking and packing your rice cakes than for sitting down.

There’s no dedicated parking, and recent store information lists parking as unavailable. With weekend traffic in Seongsu, use nearby public lots or public transport.

2. Why Is Hanjeongseon So Famous?

Hanjeongseon goes far beyond plain red bean rice cakes.

Each rice cake is filled with fruit and cream and wrapped in colorful paper like a traditional lucky pouch, so they stand out as gifts. As of 2026, the menu includes yogurt, “Dubai-style” and seasonal fruit flavors.

The GS25 yogurt chapssaltteok sold 700,000 units after launching in September 2026 — one reason Hanjeongseon became known nationwide. Seasonal fruit flavors vary by time of year.

3. Gift Set Prices and Reservations

Go by the official website for prices.

As of 2026, a 6-piece gift set is 32,000 KRW and a 9-piece set is 45,000 KRW. The selections are fixed and can’t be changed.

Important: Hanjeongseon doesn’t ship, and apart from group orders, it doesn’t take reservations — you buy in person. Group orders (50+ single pieces, 15+ six-piece sets or 10+ nine-piece sets) can be arranged separately.

If you’ll be traveling more than three hours, the official site recommends an insulated cooler bag.

4. New in October: GS25 Hanjeongseon Pistachio Chapssaltteok

This is the big Hanjeongseon news for October 2026.

GS25 Hanjeongseon pistachio chapssaltteok

GS25 launches its Hanjeongseon pistachio chapssaltteok nationwide on October 15 for 3,900 KRW.

From October 7 to 10, 20,000 can be pre-ordered via the “Uri Dongne GS” app, with pickup at your chosen store from October 14.

A launch pop-up opens at noon on October 8 at GS25 GS Gangnam in Yeoksam-dong, selling a 4-pack (two yogurt, two pistachio) with a Hanjeongseon keycap clicker gift for buyers.

For the event, head to the October 8 Gangnam pop-up; for the flagship and a Seongsu outing, go to Seongsu.

5. Visiting Hanjeongseon With Kids

There are no kids’ activities or play areas at the shop, and choosing and packing rice cakes doesn’t take long, so it’s not a destination on its own.

Still, kids enjoy picking their own fruit — strawberry, tangerine or kiwi. Explaining that it’s a traditional rice cake combined with fruit and cream turns it into a little K-dessert experience.

After buying, I recommend heading to Seoul Forest. The 2026 Seoul International Garden Expo runs there and around Seongsu until October 27, with 167 gardens and free admission (some activities cost extra).

With elementary schoolers, that makes a much fuller day.

6. A Seongsu Route With Hanjeongseon

For an October 2026 visit, the most realistic route is Hanjeongseon flagship → Seongsu streets → Seoul Forest → Seoul International Garden Expo.

Gardens at the Seoul International Garden Expo in Seoul Forest

The garden expo isn’t just a flower show: designer gardens, corporate gardens and community gardens are spread through Seoul Forest, so you see them as you stroll. With kids, let them find their favorite garden rather than explaining each one.

Seoul Forest also has a barrier-free playground for a mid-walk break.

For food or coffee, you can add a complex like Seongsu Yeonbang, but with kids, spend more time in Seoul Forest than in shops.

Is Hanjeongseon Worth a Special Trip?

It’s not an attraction, so with kids, stop by during a Seongsu outing rather than going just for rice cakes.

If you love fruit desserts or want a K-dessert gift, it’s worth a visit — and during the Seoul International Garden Expo (held until October 27 in 2026), Seoul Forest makes an easy pairing.

The GS25 Gangnam pop-up is on October 8, and the GS25 pistachio version goes on sale from October 15. If lining up at the flagship sounds like too much, try the convenience-store collaboration first.
