President Hotel Hakata

When planning a trip to Fukuoka, the first thing you think about is where to stay.

If you’re looking for a good-value hotel near Hakata Station, remember President

Hotel Hakata.

I’d call it a hidden gem that nails all three: location, cleanliness and price.

President Hotel Hakata: A 7-Minute Walk From Hakata Station

About a 7-minute walk from Hakata Station, the heart of Fukuoka, President Hotel Hakata truly lives up to being right by the station.

Walk straight out of the Hakata Exit of JR Hakata Station and you’re there, and the free shuttle was a lifesaver with lots of luggage.

Hakata Bus Terminal is also a 5-minute walk, so getting to the airport, Dazaifu or Tenjin is easy.

For anyone looking for a stress-free base for getting around, there’s no better location.

Happiness for About 60,000 Won: Unbeatable Value

Twin room

Most surprising of all is the reasonable rate of about 60,000 won a night for two (at the time of our 2025 stay).

Room interior
Beds
Desk area

Considering average hotel rates in central Fukuoka easily top 100,000 won, this price is a big advantage.

Bathroom

The low price didn’t mean lacking facilities.

Room view

The room was neat, and the comfortable bed melted away the fatigue of a full day of walking.

Shopping and Sightseeing Covered: Near Comme des Garcons Hakata

Comme des Garcons Hakata is nearby, so fashion lovers call it a “Comme des Garcons-adjacent” hotel.

Hakata Sennen-mon

Hakata Sennen-mon Gate, Tochoji Temple and Canal City Hakata are all within walking distance,

making it perfect for combining shopping and sightseeing in one day.

A morning walk to Sennen-mon Gate had a calm atmosphere that felt truly Fukuoka.

An Older but Carefully Kept Room

Hotel lobby

The exterior is a bit classic, but the inside stood out for cleanliness.

Every room has an air purifier and bidet, and the bedding was neatly made.

Women-only floors and non-smoking floors are also available, which is reassuring.

Front desk

The front desk lends out beauty items like hair stylers for free, a thoughtful touch.

Convenient Facilities and Surroundings

Service room

On the 1st, 4th and 6th floors, service rooms have coin laundry, microwaves and ice machines,

FamilyMart next door

and a FamilyMart convenience store right next door makes longer stays easy.

Details like these are what truly complete a value hotel, aren’t they?

President Hotel Hakata covers location, price, cleanliness and service, making it one of Fukuoka’s best value hotels.

If you want a budget room near Hakata Station, it’s my first choice.

Friendly staff and clean rooms made my Fukuoka trip even more satisfying.

“Reasonable price, perfect location”: that sums up President Hotel Hakata.

It’s a Hakata Station stay that suits families, couples and solo travelers alike.

Save it to your list for your next trip.
