I’m introducing Yeongdong’s signature indoor attraction, perfect whatever the weather:
the Yeongdong Wine Tunnel.
It’s comfortable even on rainy days and engages all five senses with kids,
so it’s especially popular with families.
A Tunnel Full of Grape Aroma: The Symbol of Yeongdong

Yeongdong is famous as one of Korea’s top grape-growing regions.
Themed on wine made from those abundant grapes,
the Yeongdong Wine Tunnel is a restored old railway tunnel.

Inside the 420-meter tunnel are vineyards, a wine hall, media art spaces and more,
with 12 theme zones that go beyond simple exhibits
to create a cultural space combining learning and hands-on fun.
As you enter, a gentle grape scent greets you,

and the tunnel stays at 16–18°C year-round, cool in summer and cozy in winter.
As we walked in, my child asked, “Mom, is this a wine cave?”
and I still vividly remember those sparkling eyes.
12 Hands-On Theme Zones for Kids
1. Vineyard journey and wine hall

At the tunnel’s entrance, lights and models recreate a vineyard.
Videos show how grapes grow and how wine is made,
so kids naturally learn how crops cycle.
2. World wine culture hall

Wine bottles and labels from Europe, South America, Africa and beyond are on display.
It’s a great spot to chat about world geography with kids: “Which country is this one from?”
3. Wine cellar and event hall

Huge oak barrels and thousands of wine bottles line this space,
with glass bottles sparkling under the lights.
The event hall often hosts local festivals and performances.
4. Fantasy Tunnel (the key photo zone)

This is the highlight of the Wine Tunnel.
Combining LED lights, media art and a mirror room,

it’s the best photo spot and sparks kids’ creativity.
5. Wine experience zone and game zone

Next to the tasting area for adults, there’s hands-on content for kids.

Grape-matching games and interactive videos are fun for the whole family.
Top 3 photo spots
1. Mirror room: LED lights reflect so kids look like they’re inside the light.
2. Wine label zone: Family photos in front of labels from around the world are popular.
3. Grape sculpture photo zone: At the tunnel’s end, wine-colored lighting gives fantastic colors.

Lighting is dim, so open your aperture a little and raise the ISO for moody shots.
A Perfect Indoor Trip for Rainy Days

The Wine Tunnel isn’t affected by weather at all.
It’s comfortable even on rainy or cold days,
and good air circulation keeps it from feeling stuffy.
On rainy days, the grape path at the entrance glitters with raindrops.
It’s great for walking in raincoats and taking photos with kids.
