SotSot Cheonan tents

You want to grill meat and watch a campfire outdoors with your kids, but packing camping gear feels overwhelming. SotSot Cheonan, an outdoor BBQ spot in Pungse, lets you enjoy glamping with no preparation at all. Here’s how booking and the shop work.

1. SotSot Cheonan Basics

Lawn and tents

Located in Pungse-myeon, not far from downtown Cheonan, it’s easy to reach yet feels like a countryside getaway the moment you arrive.

Address: 24 Mijuk 5-gil, Pungse-myeon, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do. Features: private tents, cast-iron lid pork belly, a big sandpit and pets allowed.

2. Booking tips before you go

SotSot Cheonan is reservation-only, and it’s popular, so book early for weekends.

How to book: choose your date and time through the online reservation page. Tent fees vary by party size, and paying the tent fee confirms your booking; food is paid separately on site.

Booking tips: the standard slot is three hours. For more time, extend on site if the next slot is free, or book two slots back to back.

Tents facing the sandpit

Best seats? Every tent faces the lawn and sandpit, so all views are good. With little ones, request a tent near the sandpit.

3. Come empty-handed: the shop guide

The rule here is no outside food.

On-site shop

That’s because the shop has everything you need.

Meat and ingredients: vacuum-packed Korean pork belly and neck, fresh and high quality.

Pork belly packs

Extras: grilling cheese, sausages, king oyster mushrooms, minari and pineapple. Free self-serve bar: unlimited lettuce, perilla leaves, shredded green onion, kimchi, bean sprouts, garlic, ssamjang, salt and sesame oil.

Kids’ food and snacks: instant rice, cup noodles and packet ramen (pot provided), plus Pororo drinks, snacks, bubbles and marshmallows.

How it works: fill a basket like at a supermarket, pay at the counter and take it to your tent. Bottled water is free per person.

4. Sizzling Cast-Iron Lid BBQ

Why is it called SotSot? Because you grill on a giant cast-iron pot lid.

Each tent has its own burner and lid, and the sizzle when meat hits the hot lid is music.

Kimchi and bean sprouts in pork fat

Put aged kimchi, bean sprouts and minari at the edge where the fat collects and let them fry in the pork fat. Pork belly on a cast-iron lid outdoors can’t go wrong.

5. Why It’s Great With Kids

Kids in the sandpit

What do kids do while parents grill? SotSot Cheonan is kid-friendly and full of thoughtful touches.

Sandpit: a large sand play area right in front of the tents, stocked with toy trucks and shovels so you needn’t bring any. You can see the kids from the tent and eat in peace.

Bubbles on the grass

Lawn: great for bubbles and running around. Private tents: strong heating and cooling keep you cool in summer and warm in winter.

The biggest plus is having a cozy family space where tired kids can come in and rest.
