Yeosu World Island Expo : How to Plan It

Taking elementary kids to the Yeosu World Island Expo? Spend day one on the eight pavilions and shows at the Dolsan Jinmo main venue, then relax by the sea on day two.
Quick Summary

The expo runs September 5 – November 4, 2026, at the Dolsan Jinmo main site in Yeosu, with sub-venues on Geumodo and Gaedo islands.

About 133 performances are planned, including K-pop and trot concerts, international troupes, street parades and island cooking shows. Check the daily schedule.
Who Will Love It

Families who want to see island ecology, food and culture alongside future marine technology in one place. Younger kids will enjoy the art and play zones.
Two-Day Itinerary

Day 1: 10:30 arrive in Yeosu → drop bags and lunch → Dolsan Jinmo → Theme Island and Marine Ecology Island pavilions → rest and snacks → Future Island or Treasure Island → early dinner → one show.

Day 2: morning walk on Odongdo or at the Yeosu Expo Park → lunch → one sea-view cafe → head home. On Gaedo and Geumodo, island camping, the Geumodo Bireong cliff trail, boat fishing, island meals and yacht, meditation and stargazing programs are planned.
Parking and Transport
Yeosu has prepared 23 temporary lots with about 9,400 spaces, free city buses toward Dolsan and fee relief at nearby public lots.

Arriving by KTX at Yeosu EXPO Station? Check the temporary shuttles and city buses first. Drivers should expect traffic on Dolsan Bridge.
Hours and Tickets

Hours are 10:00–21:00, with last entry at 20:00; October 6 is a closed day.

Do not assume a standard ticket covers ferries to Geumodo and Gaedo or reserved activities; check ferry fares and booking conditions separately.
Tips with Kids
Rather than all eight pavilions, pick three: one ecology, one future-tech and one just-for-fun. Use a wristband with a guardian’s phone number and agree on a meeting point.

Bring a light, leak-proof insulated water bottle for each child; the site is large and breezy, and refill stops help a lot.
Food and Cafes

The restaurants and Market Island are great for comparing island dishes, but check kid-friendly menus, waits and payment on site. Pick one cafe on the Dolsan side to enjoy Yeosu’s famous night sea, rather than several that add traffic.
Pros and Cons

Pros: island ecology, culture, food, future tech and Yeosu’s seascapes in one trip. Cons: venues are spread out, and Dolsan traffic builds on weekends and show days.
Safety Notes

Gaedo and Geumodo trips can change with high winds and waves. If a typhoon or marine warning is forecast, focus on the main site.
