Yeongdong Rainbow Healing Center: An Indoor Wellness Trip With Kids

Rainbow Healing Center

I visited one of Yeongdong’s signature healing spots in Chungcheongbuk-do,

Rainbow Healing Center building

the Rainbow Healing Center.

It’s an indoor attraction that’s comfortable even on rainy days, and I highly recommend it for a healing family trip with kids.

1. Architecture Inspired by Nature: Light, Wind, Water and Stone at the Rainbow Healing Center

Healing center lobby

The Rainbow Healing Center is famous for architecture that captures natural elements.

It’s designed around four elements, light, wind, water and stone, so it feels like shedding city fatigue and entering nature’s rhythm.

Above all, the key here is illite, a mineral that Yeongdong-gun is proud of.

Illite emits far-infrared rays and has strong antibacterial and purifying properties, earning it the name “nature’s wellness material.”

Throughout the center are illite-based heated rooms, foot baths and hands-on facilities.

2. The Children’s Healing Museum (B2)

The most memorable space was the Children’s Healing Museum.

It’s an indoor creative playground, a kids’ paradise where you can stay all day regardless of weather.

Main theme areas

* Book playground: A free reading space where it’s fine to be noisy, with everything from comics to learning books.

Book playground

* Giant pizza playground: A popular spot where kids climb and jump on a huge pizza-shaped structure.

* Peach ball pit: A ball pit inspired by Yeongdong’s specialty, peaches, great for sensory play and calm.

It’s not just a playground but a space for healing through play.

As kids’ laughter filled the space, I felt healed along with them.

Rainy day tip: It’s fully indoors, so you can enjoy everything even when it rains!

3. Heated Rooms and Foot Spa for Parents (B1 to 2F)

Heated rest area

While the kids play, parents can truly rest here.

Illite foot spa zone (B1)

Illite foot spa

It’s a foot bath made with Yeongdong’s clean water and illite.

It helps with fatigue and circulation, and even a short soak left me refreshed.

Heated room and relaxation room (2F)

Heated room

A private heated space with cypress wood, charcoal and illite heating mats.

Relaxation room

It costs just 1,000 won for 40 minutes, and it’s popular with older visitors too.

Tip: Go straight from the foot bath to the heated room to relieve fatigue much faster.

4. A Healing Garden of Art and Nature

Healing garden

The Rainbow Healing Center is more than an activity hall thanks to its blend of art and nature.

* Healing forest garden: A natural indoor garden flooded with sunlight from above.

Meditation pond

* Meditation pond: A calm water-gazing spot to clear your mind to the sound of water.

Garden of Light

* Garden of Light (2F): A light installation by artist Lee Kyung, reinterpreting nature’s colors and light.
